From seasonal workers to AgriQuality auditors, contractor vans to biosecurity inspections — SiteKey gives you a simple, accurate record of everyone who enters your property. No clipboards. No paper forms.
Rural operations deal with a unique mix of seasonal workers, contractors, auditors, and biosecurity officers — often across multiple entry points and with limited administrative support. Paper systems simply do not keep up.
Peak season brings large numbers of seasonal workers, often with high turnover. Managing who is actually on property at any moment — and confirming they have received a site induction — is difficult without a system.
Unregistered visitors arriving on farm without a biosecurity declaration create real risk. Paper forms get lost, go incomplete, or never get filled in — digital records are permanent and searchable.
Farms often have more than one entry point, making a centralised sign-in system difficult without QR-based technology. SiteKey QR codes can be placed at any gate or entry point across your property.
Vets, agronomists, equipment technicians, and biosecurity officers all need to be recorded. Paper visitor books are rarely complete enough to satisfy an auditor — and they do not capture biosecurity declarations.
Under the HSWA 2015, farms operating as PCBUs (persons conducting a business or undertaking) have a duty to ensure the health and safety of all workers on their property. This includes seasonal workers, contractors, and volunteers. Farms must ensure workers receive appropriate inductions, understand the hazards relevant to their work, and are accounted for in an emergency. SiteKey provides a practical, low-cost way to meet these obligations — creating a verifiable record of everyone on your property without adding administrative burden. WorkSafe New Zealand provides guidance on primary sector PCBU obligations.
SiteKey is straightforward to set up and easy for seasonal workers, contractors, and visitors to use — no training required.
No IT team needed. Most farm customers are up and running within two to three days.
Tell us about your farm, your entry points, and your biosecurity requirements. We configure SiteKey to match — biosecurity declarations, induction requirements, and admin access.
Import your contractor list or let them self-register. Each person gets a QR pass by email for fast check-in at any of your entry points.
New visitors and seasonal workers self-register on arrival. Their details and biosecurity declarations are captured digitally. Your records are always current and audit-ready.
"We had an AgriQuality audit and they wanted to see our visitor records. With SiteKey we could pull up exactly who had been on property and when — it took about 30 seconds."Orchard manager, Hawke's Bay
Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, farms operating as PCBUs have a duty to ensure the health and safety of all workers and visitors on their property. This includes seasonal workers, contractors, and service visitors. Maintaining accurate records of who is on your property is part of meeting that duty — both for emergency management and for demonstrating compliance during an audit. Beyond HSWA obligations, many farms also have biosecurity obligations that require visitor records to be kept.
Yes. SiteKey can be configured to include a biosecurity declaration step as part of the visitor or contractor sign-in process. Visitors are asked to confirm their recent movements, whether they have visited other farms, and any other biosecurity-relevant questions you specify. Their responses are recorded digitally alongside their visit record, creating an auditable trail that can be presented to MPI or AgriQuality inspectors.
SiteKey is a web-based system that works on any internet-connected device. For rural properties with limited connectivity, SiteKey works on mobile data — most sign-in interactions use only a small amount of data. QR passes can be pre-loaded on devices, and check-in can be completed with minimal data usage. We recommend discussing your connectivity situation with us during onboarding so we can configure the system to suit your property.
Yes. SiteKey supports visitor self-registration on a shared tablet or device at your entry point or office. Seasonal workers who do not have smartphones can sign in using a shared device — entering their details and completing any required declarations on arrival. QR passes can also be printed and given to workers, allowing them to check in using a QR scanner at your gate without needing their own device.
SiteKey maintains a complete, time-stamped log of every visitor, contractor, and worker who has entered your property. This log can be exported from the admin dashboard at any time. During an MPI or AgriQuality audit, you can produce visitor records and biosecurity declarations for any date range within minutes. This replaces paper visitor books that are frequently incomplete, illegible, or missing entries from busy periods.
SiteKey is a flat monthly fee — no per-user charges and no per-scan costs. Pricing starts from $30/month. During peak season when visitor numbers are high, there are no additional costs. See full pricing on the SiteKey homepage.
Tell us about your property and we'll have SiteKey configured and running before peak season.
