MRI OnLocation charges per location and counts every sign in against an annual allowance. SiteKey charges per site and counts nothing. Both publish a card, so this one compares line by line. Read from both websites on 20 September 2026.
These are MRI's own figures from the OnLocation pricing page, in New Zealand dollars per location per year on the annual plan. Their page states that pricing excludes local taxes. Each plan comes with an annual cap on sign ins.

Read from mrisoftware.com on 20 September 2026. OnScan is a paid add on at NZ $233 per user per year on Small, Medium and Large. Desk Booking is included on Small and is NZ $1,531 and NZ $3,058 per location per year on Medium and Large. Prices change, so check their page.
MRI's pricing page says that exceeding your subscription's annual usage limits before the expiry of the term means you are automatically moved to the correct subscription plan based on your usage, and the difference between the two plans, from the start of your current subscription term, will be back charged.
A Small plan allows 250 visitor and contractor sign ins a month. A site that runs a busy fortnight can pass that without anyone watching, and the correction is applied back to the start of the term.
$50 a month for a worksite, $10 a month for each site after that, excluding GST. There is no sign in allowance, no per scan charge and no per user charge, so the invoice does not move with the traffic through the gate.
| Sites | MRI OnLocation Small | SiteKey |
|---|---|---|
| 1 worksite | NZ $899 a year | $600 a year |
| 3 worksites | NZ $2,697 a year | $840 a year |
| 10 worksites | NZ $8,990 a year | $1,680 a year |
MRI figures are their published Small plan multiplied by the number of locations, excluding local taxes. SiteKey figures are $50 a month for the first worksite and $10 a month for each site after that, excluding GST. The MRI column assumes every location stays inside the 3,000 sign in cap.
MRI publishes employee scheduling, desk booking, multi language sign in, a touchless kiosk option, ID scanning through OnScan and a free trial, all ready to switch on. SiteKey sets up desk booking on request and does not scan photo ID. Their feature table also shows employee sign in allowances running to 200,000 a year, which points at a much larger workforce than SiteKey is built around.
A campus, a multi occupier building or a head office with hot desking has more to work with there.
